This Battle Belongs To The Lord

This is a story about a young man named David, who was after God’s own heart, so God empowered him to take down this giant called Goliath who had come out from the camp of the Philistines who gathered for war against Israel. The armies faced each other on two hills with a valley between them.

Goliath’s height was 6 cubits and a span. (about 9 feet’ 9 inches) He was fully armored up for battle, with his sword, his spear and his javelin. He cried out to the men of Israel saying, ” Choose a man from among yourselves, and let him come down to me in this valley. If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we Philistines will be your servants, but if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.” King Saul was dismayed and greatly afraid as were his men because Goliath was not only big but he was well known as a fierce man of war.

David the youngest son of Jesse, knew in his heart that they were well able to take down this Giant, this uncircumcised Philistine, taking up space in their land, because he believed the stories he heard about Joshua and Caleb and about God’s command for Israel to rid themselves of the giants in their land, so David told this to his brothers that they were well able to take him out, but they only laughed at him, so he went and told King Saul not to let any man’s heart fail because of this giant. I will go and fight with this Philistine. But the King told David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight for you are but a youth, and he has been a man of war from his youth.” But David told him that God had empowered him to go and kill both a lion, and a bear with his bare hands so this Philistine will be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God and I believe the Lord will deliver me. So then the King said, “Go and the Lord be with you” Saul being so desperate he was willing to trust in David because he saw that David trusted in God.

David didn’t walk, he ran down the hill towards this Goliath in confident trust because he knew his God; so in obedience to God’s command he went out to  strike the giant with a stone of rebuke from the word of God saying, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give your dead body this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel; and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For this battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into my hands. David whirled  his sling in the air and the stone flew out sinking deep into Goliath’s forehead causing him to fall on his face to the ground. Boom!!! Then David cut off his head with the Goliath’s own sword, then held up his head dripping with blood for all to see. The men of Israel rose up with a mighty shout and now it was the Philistines that ran in fear of their lives with the men of Israel hot on their tails.

David showed us we have nothing to fear when we rise up in holy boldness to bring down any enemy who comes to defy us in our land by trying to destroy the image of our powerful faithful God to us and our children.

(1 Samuel 17:45-54 and other scriptures that will back up with support are Isaiah 54:17;  Ephesians 6:11-20; and 2 Chronicles 16:9)

I bring you a similar picture. I too come as a warrior in Christ, along with many others warriors who have confidence in the Lord who fights for us..  We know our God, and we know He hates divorce and wants all those evil spirits working hard behind the scenes trying to destroy His image of faithfulness to our children to be stopped and taken out. The world is watching, they are looking to see if our God is a powerful loving faithful God like we say He is.

The world needs to see that our God is well able to protect us from the evil that is in this world today. He wants us to rise up and be passive no longer, and fight the good fight and He will go before us into battle like He did with David.

God wants us to rise up in a holy boldness, to be passionate like David was and take down this giant called divorce and remarriage that’s defying His body and His holy Name in our land today.  We are to come as an ambassadors of Christ in the spirit of reconciliation saying to the devil, “You Satan and your evil cohorts hiding behind this spirit of division, teaching falsely that remarriage to someone other than their covenant spouse while they are alive is ‘holy’ when God calls it adultery. Think again Satan! You come at us with your lies, your false teachers and your courts of man made laws, but we warriors come running towards you in the power of the living God who is almighty, and telling you this scheme of yours that you formed against us will not prosper, and every tongue raised against us in judgment we condemn because we know our heritage as servants of the Lord, our righteousness is in the blood of Christ, not in us, so we have no fear of man or it’s courts. We believe God is well able to restore our families that appear to be destroyed by this evil scheme.  We do it by walking in faith like Jesus walked on this New Covenant Path with Him supernaturally. We walk in unconditional love and forgiveness towards all those who have wounded us, and continue to wound us. We do this because we want to be forgiven ourselves for wounding others, but most of all we want others to know the power of our God is real today as in David’s day. We take an axe to that root of bitterness that has come to defile many and we cut it’s head off. We have taken our stand, and now watch and wait upon the Lord of Hosts as He goes before us to battle not only for us, but for His kingdom glory to be known to those watching to see what He will do to protect His image to our children, and our children’s children. We refuse to give up ground to the enemy, we stand strong in the Lord and fight the good fight for His Kingdom glory to be known to our next generation no matter how long or fierce this battle is. For greater is He that dwells in us than he who dwells in the world.

Scriptures supporting our stand:

John 14:12-18; 15:12-26;  Mark 10:27; Matthew 6; Matthew 19:6;  1 Corinthians 7:10-11;  Mark 10:9-12; 1 John 4:4; Matthew 6:9-15; 1 Corinthians 4:20; Nehemiah 4:14

I received This Prophetic Word from the Lord back in October of 1997        ( I also have this prophecy on tape)

Arise says the Lord, you are going to see salvation come forth to you and your household to the fullness there of, to the fullness there of. You are going to see a promise of God come to pass. Those who have doubted you, and those who have mocked you and laughed about you, are going to come to you, and they are going to say, “You’ve got something that I want. Please forgive me for judging you. I have put a judgment on you, like a curse upon you.” But God says, ” I will vindicate you, right before them because you have stood, and you have stood, and you have stood! And you have believed though you were weak you were willing. You came to the end of yourself and saw the iniquity in yourself.” But God says, “I have created a hunger in you. I set you up because I want you real bad because of the calling on your life. What I have spoken over your life I am now going to activate that vision, and activate those seeds, but first I’ll put you on the operating table where I will take a knife and cut deep, and root out all those strongholds. Fire will consume you, for it will not come to you on a silver platter.”

So true it has not come to me on a silver platter. I have experienced many things good and bad but God has encouraged me along the way to stay in the battle. Persecution from my extended family and from some people in the church has  not been a whole lot of fun, but my trust was in the Lord not in man. God knows what He has to do to bring forth growth in our lives. He is teaching me how to go the distance He requires, and to love my enemies for they are ignorant and know not what they do. God has used them to reveal things to me about myself that I needed to learn. I was to have unconditional love towards all men, this would help in bringing His promises to pass.

Praise God I got to watch the Lord bring salvation suddenly to my 7 adult children. He showed me His power to encourage me to continue stand and watch Him working things out in my husband and in me which would take some time. I now see my grandchildren are beginning to experience God as a real person, and their true Father. I love watching the changes I see taking place in my husband who divorced me many years ago, but now is sorry and is no longer running around.  He has turned his heart back towards his children who love both of us and still honor us despite what we did to them.  I will speak more about my family at a later date because we are all not where we need to be just yet but I see we are well on our way. . . .the Lord is good. . . I continue to stand believing and watching my almighty God. . . Marilyn Cavar
