It is in the laying down of our lives for our spouse like Jesus did for His one-flesh bride the church\u00a0 that He we become aware of the wisdom of God. God&#8217;s way is a much more narrow way, and much higher way. People who do not fear God will go looking for a teacher who will tickle their itchy ears with another gospel or go look in the Bible for themselves hoping to find a loop hole in their covenant vows, and thinking they have found it in Matthew 19:9, are now delighted they have found a way to break their covenant vows they made before God thinking they are so wise when they are not!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">There are <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: papyrus;\">NO<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: papyrus;\">EXCEPTIONS<\/span><\/strong><\/span> once you have entered into a Covenant God makes with you! because He said He is able to reconcile and restore YOU and any damage you do to each other, all you have to do is repent and humble yourself before Him who is Mighty, and behold Him in fear and trembling, and He will restore you back to wholeness again.\u00a0 These people who look for a way out of their holy vows have no fear of God!!! but that is only because they have no real clue as to who God really is, nor do they know Him intimately nor His power to transform us once we repent.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: papyrus;\">&#8221; Betrothals &#8221; <\/span>were legally signed documents that were so binding for the Jews that they needed to get a legal divorce to get out of them, that is how strong their betrothals were.\u00a0 They didn&#8217;t stone you for fornication. The Jews could only stone someone caught in the sin of adultery because of their covenant vows made with God.\u00a0 Their wife had to be dead so they could get out of the marriage so they could get married again. It was God who made the marriage a covenant until the &#8220;death of a spouse&#8221;. Covenants back then were taken seriously not like they are today!!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">A divorce sought and made by just one of the spouses, doesn&#8217;t have the power to break a covenant God made unless you both agree against God. Two against One. But then it still only has the power to break the\u00a0intimacy you have with one another, death of your covenant spouse is still the only thing that will set you free to marry again because God is able to restore that which has been broken through the sin of adultery even if only the laid down life of just one of the Covenant spouses cries out for God to intervene. What can a mere man do to you with God on your side. All God needs is just you, one of his covenant partners to stand in the gap with Him and believe He who knows how to keep His covenant promises He made to you and your one-flesh partner so your family can be restored for His kingdom glory and pleasure. He will and can hedge your mate up and keep him or her from finding their lovers even after they chase them down. Like He did with Gomer.\u00a0 He is able to bring the prodigal back to their senses, broken and contrite willing to do it God&#8217;s way now as long as one of the covenant partners is agreeing with God that is why He made them &#8220;One&#8221;.\u00a0 The &#8220;body&#8221; of the one that has gone astray still belongs to the one standing trusting in God to Keep His Word to them when they made their vows before God.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This book we highly endorse:\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: papyrus;\"> &#8220;Divorce and Remarriage&#8221;<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> the Trojan Horse within the church. .whom shall we believe. . . by Joseph A.Webb &amp; Patrica L. Webb PH.D exposes the enemy in the camp those preaching false doctrine about divorce and remarriage. . . . <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><strong>Erasmus<\/strong>, a humanist, and close friend of King Henry VIII in the 14 century was one of the those who tried changing the meaning of\u00a0this scripture\u00a0to please\u00a0King Henry. He was the first to translate\u00a0the Greek New Testament into English.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">Since\u00a0Erasmus\u00a0distorted the meaning of the\u00a0word <em>&#8216;fornication&#8217; in scripture.\u00a0 A fornicator is described as someone who is not fit (or pure in heart) to enter into a life long covenant\u00a0of marriage<\/em>; which is true but they fail to say a fornicator can repent of their wicked ways once they understand they have sinned before God and man and then be fit for a life long commitment. Others have also\u00a0added their own ideas as to the meaning\u00a0of the word fornication in scripture over the years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">What Jesus was talking with the Jews in Matthew 19:9. He was saying &#8220;Divorce&#8221; was only allowed during the betrothal time and the Jews knew what Yeshua was talking about because they stoned the adulterer, not the fornicator.\u00a0 Joseph thought his betrothed wife Mary had sex with someone else so was going to divorce her quietly so as not to shame her, but an angel sent by God change his mind when he realized it was the Holy Spirit who got her pregnant so the she was still a virgin.\u00a0 Being a virgin was very important to the Jews.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">\u00a0<strong>Martin Luther<\/strong> who we hold\u00a0in high regard\u00a0today in some areas of his teachings, held the\u00a0view that <em>&#8216;failure of a wife to perform their normal conjugal responsibility&#8217;<\/em> was also grounds for divorce. Luther also spoke against the Jews which wasn&#8217;t very wise of him or for anyone who speaks against the apple of God&#8217;s eye. Yes God divorced Israel because of her wicked and sexual immoral behaviour, but He didn&#8217;t break His covenant with her. Israel&#8217;s intimacy with\u00a0God\u00a0was what was broken, but intimacy with Him is\u00a0still\u00a0redeemable upon true repentance due to\u00a0a\u00a0broken and contrite heart crying out before the Lord<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><strong>John Milton<\/strong> (1608-1674) &#8211; gave <em>&#8216;impotence&#8217;<\/em> as grounds for divorce. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><strong>Phillip Melanchthon<\/strong> (1497-1560) &#8211; his view was\u00a0a marriage covenant\u00a0was <em>&#8216;broken\u00a0by\u00a0the adulterer, and not by the innocent party&#8217;,<\/em> therefore the innocent party was free to marry again. This view is very popular today. This view is not of God.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: papyrus; font-size: 14pt;\">Jesus said<\/span>,<span style=\"font-family: papyrus; font-size: 14pt;\"> &#8220;It was also said, &#8216;Whoever divorces his (<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">betrothed <\/span>) wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce, but I say to you that everyone who divorces his (covenant for life) wife, makes her commit adultery, and who ever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.&#8217;\u00a0 Matthew 5:31-32<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">So what Jesus is saying here is anyone divorcing\u00a0 his or her spouse once the marriage is sanctified before God who witnessed it, is in rebellion against God and His ways and if they both get married again then they both commit adultery in God&#8217;s eyes. You must repent and ask God what you should do now that you have defiled the marriage bed. Covenant breaking is a serious offense against God and His Kingdom ways! Where is their fear of God?<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><strong>Huldreich Zwingli<\/strong> (1484-153100) &#8211; said other\u00a0more treacherous things such as <em>&#8216;murder, treason and sorcery&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>were also grounds for divorce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">\u00a0Even today\u00a0godly men and women\u00a0erroneously add their own views to\u00a0this scripture thinking they have freedom to do so.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">There is no <span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><strong>&#8216;exception\u00a0clause&#8217;<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0once a <span style=\"color: #400000;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: Papyrus;\"><strong><em>&#8216;Covenant&#8217;<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>has been\u00a0entered into,\u00a0the <em>&#8216;except for clause&#8217;<\/em> was\u00a0used only during\u00a0the legal betrothal period the Jews had. It was\u00a0used to prevent a person from entering into what God called a holy blood Covenant. The Jews\u00a0 wanted marriage to be honoured by all, and the marriage bed undefiled by sexual sin.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">\u00a0All Jews knew\u00a0divorce\u00a0was\u00a0allowed\u00a0by Moses only during the legal betrothal\u00a0period and sometimes when it was only made known\u00a0that their bride\u00a0was defiled when no virgin blood was found on the marriage cloth. Proof that she was no virgin, evident that sexually active had taken place with someone else. Joseph didn&#8217;t want to put his betrothed wife Mary through this embarrassment so planned on divorcing her quietly. Joseph would be considered to be a just man because of that. Mary would not have been\u00a0stoned\u00a0because she didn&#8217;t commit adultery in their eyes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">Even Jesus said\u00a0it was ok\u00a0to divorce for fornication, that is what Jesus was discussing with the Pharisees. Divorce would be\u00a0justified by the innocent party because the\u00a0marriage had not been\u00a0consummated\u00a0yet so there was no\u00a0breaking of a blood covenant. Any\u00a0sexual activity outside of what God intended\u00a0for\u00a0marriage is called Porneia, and is not allowed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia;\"><em>Porneia<\/em> is\u00a0engaging in any sexual activity against\u00a0God&#8217;s design and desire for sex. An example\u00a0of this is a\u00a0<em><strong>&#8216;homosexual<\/strong>&#8216; or <strong>&#8216;lesbian&#8217;<\/strong><\/em> relationships (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 5 ) <strong><em>&#8216;rape&#8217; <\/em><\/strong>(Exodus 22:16-17, Deuteronomy 22:23-29 ) <em><strong>&#8216;adultery&#8217;<\/strong> (Exodus 20:14, Deuteronomy 22:22) <strong>&#8216;prostitution&#8217; or<\/strong> <strong>&#8216;harlotry&#8217;,<\/strong>(Proverbs 7:1-27; 29:3)\u00a0 <strong>&#8216;incest<\/strong>&#8216; (Leviticus 18:2,4,6, and 18:6-16)\u00a0<\/em> <strong><em>&#8216;pedophilia&#8217; is sexual rape of children, instead of an adult. <\/em><\/strong>(same as above for rape)<strong><em> &#8216;common-law&#8217; relationships <\/em><\/strong><em>(Deuteronomy 24:1-4 ) are like<\/em> marriages that have never been sanctified before the Lord.\u00a0 <strong><em>&#8216;bestiality&#8217; <\/em><\/strong>sexual relations with animals<em>, <\/em>an abomination before the Lord . These are all sinful relationships that cause emotionally damage to a person and to all their relationships there after until they are repented of!<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"center\">Sexual Deviations is condemned in biblical teaching<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">A marriage covenant is made only when\u00a0it is witnessed by God as acceptable in His eyes, &#8216;one man who is free to marry\u00a0and one woman who is free to marry&#8217;. God is the only one with the power to join this\u00a0man and woman\u00a0together as\u00a0one flesh. God has promised to do this\u00a0in front of witnesses who are gathered to view this sacred union. He then commands that <em><strong>no man<\/strong><\/em> separate them. Pastors or lawyers do not have the\u00a0right or the authority to mess with\u00a0this sacred sanctified union. God will chasten His own and bring us all back into right standing\u00a0with Him once we repent of our wicked ways and turn back to Him, then the Church will understand how far they have fallen.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">\u00a0\u00a0Porneia\u00a0type<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"> relationships\u00a0were practiced by pagans long before\u00a0and after\u00a0Jesus time,\u00a0and were even practiced\u00a0by some\u00a0Jews\u00a0which\u00a0the Pharisees were condemning because they knew it was wrong. That&#8217;s what Jesus was discussing\u00a0with the Pharisees in Matthew 19:9,\u00a0they all knew and understood\u00a0Jesus was referring to\u00a0this divorce practice\u00a0that was\u00a0going on during the\u00a0betrothal period was good and just because husbands and wives\u00a0were not to come\u00a0together in\u00a0the marriage bed defiled.\u00a0Luke\u00a0didn&#8217;t need to\u00a0mentioned\u00a0this when speaking to the\u00a0Romans because\u00a0&#8216;<span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><strong>betrothals&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>were not part of\u00a0their marital customs.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: xx-large;\"><strong>Question # 3: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #400000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>What is\u00a0a\u00a0Betrothal Period? <\/u>:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #400000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia;\">A betrothal\u00a0is like an\u00a0&#8216;engagement&#8217; period. A the\u00a0time when\u00a0a Jewish man, after\u00a0making an arrangement with the father and paying him the &#8216;bride price&#8217;,\u00a0made public his intentions\u00a0to marry a\u00a0particular woman,\u00a0by entering into\u00a0a legal\u00a0contractual engagement with his\u00a0chosen woman to show the world he\u00a0was serious about his intentions.\u00a0This betrothed couple were then\u00a0referred to\u00a0as husband\u00a0and wife from then on, even before the marriage\u00a0was consummated and made holy unto\u00a0God in a very special covenant ceremony! Papers\u00a0were\u00a0signed making\u00a0their betrothal\u00a0a legal binding <strong><span style=\"font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\">&#8216;contract&#8217;.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Therefore a legal\u00a0certificate of divorce known as a<\/span> <strong>&#8216;Get&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\">would be\u00a0require if the husband\u00a0wanted out of this promise he made in public, that he was to marry her. He was\u00a0allowed\u00a0to divorce her only after\u00a0having\u00a0proof\u00a0his bride wouldn&#8217;t\u00a0come to him\u00a0pure, and spotless\u00a0on their wedding night.\u00a0He would be\u00a0considered\u00a0a just\u00a0man by\u00a0refusing to enter into a permanent life long\u00a0covenant relationship with such a woman; as Joseph was considered to be a just man for planing on divorcing Mary quietly after he found his betrothed\u00a0wife\u00a0pregnant with what he thought, another man&#8217;s child.\u00a0He\u00a0knew\u00a0virgin blood would not be\u00a0found on the ceremonial marriage cloth\u00a0that was to be shown to the Sanhedren as proof of her virginity. He didn&#8217;t want her humiliated\u00a0so planned on putting her\u00a0away quietly out of\u00a0respect for her, but\u00a0God showed Joseph\u00a0in a dream that Mary was not defiled, the child she was caring was their\u00a0long awaited Messiah,\u00a0a Son begotten\u00a0of God not man. Joseph was\u00a0actually given the hounor of becoming\u00a0Yeshua&#8217;s earthly\u00a0father. This\u00a0child born\u00a0to\u00a0become\u00a0their own Saviour and ours.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #400000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><strong>Awsome<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When virgin blood was found on the marriage cloth it\u00a0was proof\u00a0a blood covenant had now been\u00a0entered into. With no\u00a0hymen to\u00a0tear,\u00a0no blood would\u00a0be spilt and no covenant would be made.\u00a0The bride&#8217;s\u00a0whole family would feel the shame if no blood was\u00a0discovered. So the Jews knew how important <span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8216;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: papyrus; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">blood<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216; was to a covenant. Adultery is any sexual activity with someone other than your <u>covenant<\/u> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">spouse<\/span> while your covenant spouse\u00a0still lives.\u00a0Only the death of a covenant spouse could set the other free so\u00a0they could\u00a0marry again.\u00a0That is why the Pharisees\u00a0stoned the women caught in adultery in those\u00a0days, her\u00a0death set her husband\u00a0free\u00a0so\u00a0he could\u00a0marry again.\u00a0Men\u00a0made it a practice to\u00a0protect one another by not\u00a0exposing on one another, but Yeshua saw what they did behind closed doors.\u00a0Could\u00a0that be\u00a0what he was writing in the dust when they caught that women in adultery?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #400000;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong>Jesus<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia; font-size: medium;\">didn&#8217;t advocate stoning, or death to the woman\u00a0caught in adultery. He invited anyone who was without sin to cast the first stone,\u00a0He knew no one was with out sin. Jesus\u00a0didn&#8217;t come to condemn us, but to forgive\u00a0us who are\u00a0caught because sin condemns us.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>&#8220;Go, and sin no more&#8221; Jesus said.\u00a0 to the woman<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: medium;\">Jesus promised He would\u00a0never leave us or forsake us no matter\u00a0what we did. He is not like us. He will continue to stand firm on our behalf, interceding for us to <span style=\"color: #400000; font-size: x-large;\"><span style=\"font-family: Papyrus;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #400000; font-size: large;\">&#8220;repent\u00a0and turn from our wicked ways&#8221;.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>He will continue to cry out on our behalf\u00a0until He comes back to receive His pure un-defiled repentant bride who has made herself ready, and became fully awake awaiting His return.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"color: #400000; font-family: Papyrus; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia; font-size: medium;\">The\u00a0Holy Spirit is Jesus\u00a0gift to us, given\u00a0not only to comfort us but to convict us so we can repent. That&#8217;s the Holy Spirit&#8217;s job,\u00a0to make us pure and\u00a0spotless\u00a0for our Bridegroom Yeshua\/Jesus return. He will not give up on us, and we are not to\u00a0give up on our covenant mates!\u00a0We are to emulate God&#8217;s kind\u00a0of\u00a0love towards them until one of us dies.\u00a0Jesus knows we can&#8217;t do this in our own strength, that&#8217;s why\u00a0He left His Holy Spirit to\u00a0help strength us so we can move forward. He will teach us all things that pertain to\u00a0life and godliness.\u00a0It\u00a0takes a move of the Holy Spirit in our\u00a0hearts to enable us to forgive a spouse who hurts us so deeply through the sin of adultery,\u00a0abandonment and betrayal.
